Aurora WDC Analysis: Many firms had in the past used trade shows and other events to get the word out about their products or their business in general, with the ongoing pandemic, many businesses are shifting to virtual events, most notable was Apple’s virtual developer conference. More than nine million people watched the keynote address on YouTube, while apple is a B2C company, the success shows that companies can draw in larger crowds to view the event when its virtual. Hewlett Packard had 75,000 registered attendees for their Discover virtual event. While marketing through virtual events can produce more exposure for a company or product, the potential loss in revenue for hotels, restaurants and other businesses may be severe if companies permanently shift to virtual events.
