About the Exercise

This free 90-minute hands-on exercise will introduce participants seeking an in-depth understanding of the practical intelligence analysis applications for generative AI (GenAI) driven by research on best practices for AI usage with CI professionals. Austin will facilitate several short exercises designed to help you and your team understand how GenAI platforms compare – along with their limitations – in building monitoring solutions. These exercises will also stimulate group discussion on the emerging best practices for integrating GenAI into your intelligence organization and analysis toolsets. The main learning experience will come from participants actually using your choice of two of the six GenAI systems we’ve selected to build prompts to address issues surrounding upcoming events. These include Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.

About the Presenter: Austin Fleisher

Austin C. Fleisher is an all-source intelligence analyst specializing in gathering pertinent data and signals from OSINT sources and source networks who produces intelligence products like tailored briefings, visuals, and reports to inform decision-making, growth trajectory, and investment choices. He has over six years of experience applying intelligence (CI ) gathering and analysis frameworks, methods, models, processes and systems supporting decision-makers and managers in competitive innovation, science and technology (CISTI), finance and insurance, government contracting and research, higher education and quick service restaurant (QSR) markets. Austin has spent the last few years researching tactical usage of GenAI technology for analyses. This research spans popular GenAI platforms such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, as well as Chinese platforms including Baidu, Tencent and others. Austin holds a Master of Professional Studies in Applied Intelligence (MPAI) degree from Georgetown University. His capstone research explored how intelligence professionals use Generative AI to solve CI analytical tasks.
